I developed my Art Making Skills:
During this project I was able to improve my shading skill with pencils. There were certain parts of the drawing where I had to shade super dark and and some where I did not shade anything at all. I was able to practice a wider range of value and develop skills in making a smoother transition from light to dark. Also knowing when to make things bolder and where to highlight parts to make the drawing look more realistic was something I was able to improve on.
I Take Risks:
I took a risk with this project because drawing books stacked in a perspective manner was something I wasn't really comfortable with. As I was drawing my draft I wasn't sure if it was what I really wanted to draw. I didn't like the way it was turning out and I was finding it difficult to get right. I ended up drawing it anyway because I thought it would make me better drawing something I was uncomfortable with. I had never really learned how to correctly draw in perspective until now and I was actually not unhappy with how it came out. I was glad I chose something that I thought was difficult because if I chose something I was more comfortable with than I would not have improved.
We Collaborate:
During this process I asked a few of my friends and Ms. Rossi questions. I got suggestions from my friends about what parts they thought I needed to shade more. Ms. Rossi was able to help me out with a few lines being correctly in perspective. Also, she gave me advice on how to draw some things dealing with the "Wicked" book because I had a little bit of a difficult time with that. Lastly, Ms. Rossi was the one who told me I needed to make the outlines of the books more bold and she told me where to add some highlights in. Asking questions from my peers allowed me to better my artwork and learn more for future projects.
