I Create Original Art:
I think one of the reasons for assigning this project was originality. It was a really cool idea for a project and you could pretty much do whatever with it, unfortunately mine just came out kinda sucky. My sources for inspiration were just looking at other peoples around the room. It gave me an idea of themes and things I could put together and how to layer. Looking around the room and seeing the different themes like cool colors, different shades of colors and I'm pretty sure Stacia (my bad if i misspelled that) even did like a Christmas theme, which i thought was pretty cool, led me to wanting to do like a darker colors, kinda warm theme. And then seeing that people were just putting on random ribbons led me to picking out a gold ribbon and put it on and then it made me wanna cut up the gold sparkly-isn sides and throw them on too.
I Communicate Through My Work:
I am not saying that this piece describes me. But when I am not wearing nike shorts or running pants or just and kind of lazy/athletic clothes and I do dress nice (rare) these honestly tend to be the colors that I wear, besides the bright orange. I typically go for the darker colors and the peachyish color rocks. It's actually funny because i didn't even realize this until i started writhing this blog. Also I noticed that practically one half of my piece is less decorated (not the word I wanted to use) than the other side. I guess you could say this kind of relates to me because the piece is a lot more simple and isn't super decorative and crazy and i guess I'm just a simple gal.
I Solve Problems:
At first I had this really ugly brown tissue paper with the purplish and yellow and it really made the piece look so ugly, but i kind of just thought that as time went on it wouldn't look so bad because i would be layering. It still looked bad though, so I used orange to cover it up and it made it look better. Once i chose the orange it allowed me to be a little more creative and think of more things that i could add and layer on to the piece.
Mixed media isn't really my thing.
Just An Extra Comment:
Also, I thought it was really cool that i could look at my piece and not really like it all, but then after using the view-finder it allowed me to pick a piece of it that i did like and i am not explaining this very well but i just thought it was cool.
